Landmark House and Thames Tower – Progress

The demolition works for Landmark House and Thames Tower are 3 months in and the team are making visible progress. This project entails major demolition works being undertaken within a densely populated location in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Prior to any demolition works commencing as principle contractors, GLD held our first public consultation meeting with the Hammersmith local residents. This enabled a meet the contractor ice breaker, and any questions and concerns were addressed by one of the Managing Directors Jonathan Hanley. This was accompanied by letters sent to the locals also with an email address and direct contact number to senior staff welcomed any time.

Since, hoarding has been erected on the site perimeters as an initial barrier for the public along with allocated pedestrian walkways. The first phase including live service terminations outside the building footprint, erecting protection scaffolding, removing all asbestos materials detailed in the asbestos surveys and completing the soft strip works to all buildings on site.

Telescopic crawler crane LTR1220 is now positioned in the last week of August, with works underway for the top-down demolition of the upper floors of Landmark House. Watch this space!
